Stadtpark – Viennese City Park: This park was opened to the public in the 19th century as the first public park and is well-known for the Kursalon Hübner and the statue of Johan Strauß (son).
Palais Schwarzenberg: The Palais is a baroque-style palace, which was built during the 17th and 18th centuries.
Belvedere Palace: This 17th century palace was built for Prince Eugene of Savoy and today houses the art collection of the Belvedere. Both buildings are situated within an expansive park.
Karlsplatz (Charles Square): Named after Emperor Charles VI, the square is a hub for Viennese public transport and lies in close proximity to the Karlskirche (St. Charles's Church), museums, and sights.
Karlskirche (St. Charles's Church): This Baroque style church is one of the landmarks of Vienna. It was designed by the famous architect Fischer von Erlach and features very distinctive columns and a large domed ceiling.
Kunsthalle Wien: This art museum is situated in the MuseumsQuartier and features exhibitions focusing on contemporary international art.
Secession: The Secession was founded by a number of influential artists, such as Gustav Klimt, when they decided to resign from the Association of Austrian Artists, which was housed in the Vienna Künstlerhaus. The Art Nouveau style building still houses art exhibitions.
MAK: The Museum of Applied Arts was established in the 19th century and displays design-pieces as well as contemporary art.
Botanical Garden: Founded in the 18th century, the garden houses over 9,000 species, is utilised for research and education by the university and is open to the public.
Eislaufverein: The Vienna Ice Skating Club's 6,000 m² ice rink is one of the largest open air skating rinks worldwide.
Haus der Musik: The House of Music Museum is the world's first „sound museum", which offers a wide variety of interactive and multimedia presentations.
Konzerthaus: The Wiener Konzerthaus is known as a venue of quality musical performances and is the home of ensembles such as the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra and the Klangforum Wien.
Kursalon: The current Kursalon building was designed and built in a Renaissance style in the 19th century and is a popular venue for concerts, balls, and events. In the 19th century it was the venue of concerts by Johan Strauss (Son).
