The hotel is located in the centre of Vienna. Shops and sights of the 1st and 9th Districts of Vienna are within walking distance.
Vienna Stock Exchange: The Neorenaissance-style building was erected in the 19th century and until 2000 was the headquarters of the Wiener Börse AG.
Votivkirche (Votive Church): This 19th century church is the second-highest church of Vienna. The monumental Neogothic building is a popular tourist attraction.
Hauptuniversität (University Main Building): The university was founded in the 14th century and is the oldest German-language university in existence today. The „Main Building" was constructed in the 19th century and features an inner courtyard with arcades, which house statues and busts of famous alumni, such as Sigmund Freud and Erwin Schrödinger.
Liechtenstein Museum: The museum is housed within the Liechtenstein Palace in the 9th district of Vienna and features the private art collection of the House of Liechtenstein. The collection's emphasis is on Baroque art, particularly the works of Peter Paul Rubens, but also includes Renaissance and Biedermeier art.
Globenmuseum (Globe Museum): This friendly little museum offers an intriguing insight into the history of art and cartography.
Esperanto Museum: The Esperanto Museum is housed within the same building as the Globe Museum and offers an interesting linguistic and historical representation of this artificial language.
Sigmund Freud Museum: This museum is located in the 9th district of Vienna in the former flat and office of Sigmund Freud. The museum offers exhibitions and events pertaining to the history of psychoanalysis, as well as to Freud's life.
Schottenstift (Scottish Abbey): This Benedictine Monastery is located on the Freyung in the 1st district of Vienna. Founded in 1155, it was meant to house only Irish monks, but has been in the care of non-Irish Benedictine monks since the 15th century. Today's buildings date back to the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The museum houses collections of paintings, furniture, spiritual art and liturgical implements.
Am Hof: One of Vienna's oldest town squares, dating all the way back to late antiquity. Famous buildings along the square include the Kirche am Hof, the Zeughaus (Old Arsenal), the Collaltopalais, and the Mariensäule.
Michaelerkirche (St. Michael's Church): This Church is just across the street from the Hofburg and is famous for its catacombs. The church was the venue of Mozart's funeral mass and on a lighter note, was used as a set in the famous „Sissi" movies.
Bank Austria Kunstforum: The Bank Austria Art Forum is situated in the former banking offices of the Österreichische Creditanstalt für Handel und Gewerbe and has been used for art exhibitions since 1989. The exhibitions emphasise Classic Modernism, Avant Garde, and contemporary art.
Freyung: This town square is enclosed by the Schottenstift and numerous city palaces, and is well-known for the Easter and its Christmas markets.
