Theater an der Wien
The Theater an der Wien is located directly at Vienna Naschmarkt and it is the fourth most important opera house in the city. At the same time it is the youngest and oldest theatre of Vienna: the construction year dates back to 1801, but every week there are contemporary dances, operas and concerts on stage.
Albertina is one of the most significant graphic collections in the world with around 65,000 drawings and over a million prints. The house with the extravagant projecting roof known as “Soravia Wing” by the architect Hans Hollein draws attention mainly due to the large exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The portfolio is enhanced by Batliner’s collection, one of the largest European private collections of modern art.
This building, in which the Art Nouveau painter Gustav Klimt — had his last studio, is located in the picturesque garden in the 13th Viennese district. Today’s architecture dates back to the time after Klimt’s death; the living and working situation from 1911 to 1918 has been reproduced impressively with regard to atmosphere and contents through the reconstruction of former establishments.n.
